He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

towles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
towles is looking to take a break and control but bonds is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on bonds's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
bonds looks gassed!

towles stands up and we're back to a striking position.
towles shoots in looking for a takedown. bonds tries to sprawl out of it but towles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. bonds manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
towles doesn't manage to clinch there - bonds circles away.
