The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hill is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Karalis's half guard.
Hill prevents Karalis from improving his position.

Karalis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Karalis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hill's guard.
Hill controls Karalis momentarily but Karalis frees himself.

Hill has his foot on Karalis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karalis works his way back into a safe position though.

Hill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hill looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Karalis puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Hill is trying to escape back to his feet but Karalis uses the scramble to pass into side control.
