PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boris Travos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karol Dowda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Travos comes into the arena with Korn - Blind blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boris Travos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karol Dowda!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Dowda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dowda fails to land with a series of punches.
Some wild striking there from Dowda.
Travos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dowda but Dowda pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dowda lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Travos moves away from the strike by Dowda.
Travos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dowda sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Travos somewhat.

Travos scores a takedown into full mount!
Dowda holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Travos tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Travos tries to control but Dowda wriggling away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Travos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dowda is looking to escape.
Dowda can't escape the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dowda is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Travos trying to control but Dowda is having none of it.
Travos misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Dowda is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
Travos is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Dowda avoids a series of strikes thrown by Travos.
Dowda keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dowda wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Travos.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Travos loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Dowda scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Travos land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Travos stands and salutes the crowd.
