Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Ireland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Lontrame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lontrame has chosen Rocket Skates by The Deftones as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Ireland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vincent Lontrame!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ireland fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ireland closes the distance and clinches up with Lontrame, looking for a takedown. Ireland pushes Lontrame against the cage but Lontrame circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lontrame throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lontrame doesn't manage to clinch there - Ireland circles away.
Ireland throws a half hearted mid kick.
Lontrame tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ireland was well out of range. Poor timing from Lontrame.
Ireland will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ireland throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lontrame's waist but Lontrame gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ireland off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Ireland. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ireland shoots in for a double leg but Lontrame sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ireland closes the distance but Lontrame moves to the side

so Lontrame counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ireland is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lontrame is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lontrame is looking to work some ground and pound but Ireland has wrist control.

Ireland looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ireland being controlled here, momentarily.
Ireland keeping moving, preventing Lontrame from controlling successfully.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ireland tries to strike from the bottom.
Lontrame wants to control from the top but Ireland keeps moving.

Lontrame avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ireland looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ireland keeping moving, preventing Lontrame from controlling successfully.
Lontrame wants to stand but Ireland is controlling his posture from full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ireland throws a wild body kick that Lontrame sees coming a mile off.

Lontrame closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ireland can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ireland is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lontrame off and has taken his back!
Lontrame tries to roll but Ireland sticks to his back.
Lontrame controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lontrame trying to control the hands but Ireland won't let him.
Ireland misses with punches from the back.
You can see the frustration on Lontrame's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Ireland is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Lontrame taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Ireland.
