PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Byeongsuk Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davis Marcus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes to the ring accompanied by Choi Hong Man-Beauty and the Beast. Marcus has chosen "Princes of the Universe," by Queen as his entrance music. The key to victory for Byeongsuk Kim has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Byeongsuk Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Davis Marcus!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Marcus defending well as Kim loads up on a big left hand.
Marcus fails with an attempt to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kim. Marcus does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kim paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A left lands for Kim.

Kim lets loose with a powerful body kick. Marcus will feel that in the morning.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kim, as that shot connected.
A punch lands to the side of Marcus 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Kim tries to bum rush Marcus with a series of wild strikes but Marcus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kim scores with a hook to the body. Marcus takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Marcus has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kim is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Byeongsuk Kim will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kim, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
