PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Bonafacio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dex Donk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonafacio comes into the arena with Becoming the Bull-Atreyu blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Alex Bonafacio has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Alex Bonafacio seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonafacio scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Donk instigates a clinch.

Donk breaks from the clinch.
Bonafacio stalks Donk and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Donk's face. Donk staggers backwards, shaken.
Bonafacio throws a sloppy head kick and Donk moves out of range easily.
Donk is looking to clinch.
Bonafacio fails to land with a series of punches.
Bonafacio throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bonafacio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bonafacio throws a right and a left that Donk avoids nicely.
Donk slips a jab and a cross from Bonafacio.

Bonafacio is breathing heavily.

Donk looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bonafacio is trying to get back to full guard.
Donk is keen to just control but Bonafacio is a slippery customer.

Bonafacio is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Donk pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Donk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Donk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Donk drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bonafacio looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bonafacio looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bonafacio!
Bonafacio wants to control but Donk is keeping him busy.

Donk is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bonafacio's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Donk gets back to full guard.
Donk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Donk is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bonafacio defends it well.
Bonafacio is in trouble now - Donk has advanced to mount!

It looks like Alex Bonafacio has been cut.

Donk is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bonafacio can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
