Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoop shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ford sprawls well. Ford wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hoop gets slowly back to his feet.
Ford cracks Hoop with an open hand slap.
Hoop fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice defenses there by Hoop.
Hoop moves out of range of the strikes.
Ford lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hoop circles away quickly and effectively.
Hoop swings for the body but Ford moves out of range.
Ford avoids a kick to the body.
Ford throws a chopping leg kick but Hoop manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Ford gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hoop to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hoop throwing strikes but missing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoop wants to pass the guard but Ford is keeping the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ford can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ford is pulling down on Hoop's head. It's preventing any offense from Hoop, at least for the moment.

Ford is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hoop drops back looking for a leg! Ford is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ford manages to kick Hoop off! Hoop jumps back into Ford's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hoop takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hoop thuds his right hand into Ford's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hoop steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ford.
Ford throws out a powerful jab.
Hoop takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ford scores with a shot to the body.
Ford misses with an uppercut.
Ford missing with a left hand there. Hoop was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Alan Ford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoop misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hoop takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ford wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hoop tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hoop somewhat.

Ford throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ford finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Ford is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Hoop had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Hoop doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hoop takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

It's a brutal combination of punches from Ford! Hoop is backing up but he can't get away as Ford lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Hoop and ends the fight. Great knockout.
