PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Royce Grazies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Jooginz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jooginz's choice of entrance music: Break some shit. Andrew Jooginz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royce Grazies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Jooginz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grazies ducks under a wild hook from Jooginz.
Grazies tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jooginz swivels and escapes.
Jooginz takes a swing at Grazies's ribcage but misses.
Jooginz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Grazies shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jooginz slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jooginz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Grazies gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Grazies shoots for a double leg takedown but Jooginz sprawls well. He's pushed Grazies's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Grazies. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Grazies tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Grazies has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Grazies wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jooginz, who protects the arm well.
Jooginz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Grazies off and has taken his back!
Jooginz cracks Grazies with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Grazies from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Jooginz lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Jooginz throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Grazies!

Grazies is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Jooginz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jooginz is nestled in close to Grazies, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jooginz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jooginz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Jooginz stands up over Grazies, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Grazies is not content to let Jooginz control the position.
Jooginz slips a nice elbow through Grazies's hands, connecting with Grazies's forehead.
Jooginz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Jooginz is looking to take a break and control but Grazies is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jooginz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

It looks like Royce Grazies has been cut.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jooginz. Grazies does a little dance to reset his feet.

Grazies slips a straight right by Jooginz.
Grazies takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Jooginz throws the left hand but Grazies avoids the punch easily.
Oh Grazies is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jooginz drops Grazies with a naaaaasty hook - Grazies is in real trouble here! Jooginz dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
