Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Herbie Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Lindsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins comes to the cage accompanied by My Sacrifice. Lindsey has chosen Californication - RHCP as his entrance music. Herbie Hawkins could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Daniel Lindsey's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Herbie Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Lindsey!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lindsey wants to clinch.

Lindsey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lindsey tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Lindsey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Hawkins tries to clinch but Lindsey is having none of it.
Hawkins scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Lindsey tries to keep at a distance but Hawkins has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hawkins dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Lindsey scores with the left hand. Hawkins knows he should have avoided that one.
Hawkins connects with the punch.
Lindsey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hawkins uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Lindsey gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hawkins takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hawkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lindsey moves away.
Lindsey takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lindsey tries for a takedown but Hawkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Herbie Hawkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Lindsey.

Hawkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lindsey, pushing him back against the cage.
Lindsey tries to pull guard but Hawkins won't allow it.
Lindsey wants a takedown.

Hawkins scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lindsey doesn't seem bothered though.

Hawkins is looking to wear down Lindsey with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Hawkins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lindsey was covering up waiting for the punch and Hawkins finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hawkins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hawkins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hawkins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lindsey manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hawkins has Lindsey in his guard.

Hawkins swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lindsey is now in Hawkins's guard. A big mistake from Hawkins there, giving up the dominant position!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hawkins is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lindsey gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

It looks like Herbie Hawkins has been cut.

Hawkins is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lindsey pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Horrible takedown by Lindsey or perhaps it was just good defense by Hawkins which made him look bad.

Lindsey feints and as Hawkins raises his hands in defense, Lindsey changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hawkins is looking to stand up but Lindsey isn't so interested in that idea.

Lindsey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hawkins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lindsey has managed to get both his arms back between Hawkins's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lindsey tries to pass to full mount but Hawkins defends it.

Lindsey is trying to work for a kimura but Hawkins is defending well.
Lindsey tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hawkins controls his leg.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Herbie Hawkins.
I think Hawkins has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
