The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell works over Van Hook's head and body with a nice combination.
Van Hook throws a front kick aimed at Maxwell's knee but Maxwell avoids it well.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Maxwell checks a leg kick.
Maxwell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Van Hook.
Van Hook looks to land a left hand but Maxwell moved out of range nicely.
Van Hook throws a hook but Maxwell avoids it easily.
Maxwell smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Van Hook throws a low kick, looking for Maxwell's leg but Maxwell calmly moves out of range.
Van Hook misses with a straight left.

Van Hook moves into the clinch.
Maxwell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Maxwell has had enough of the clinch but Van Hook keeps him there for the moment.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Van Hook.
Van Hook misses with the head strike.
A right hook to the body lands for Van Hook.

Maxwell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Van Hook thuds his shin into the meat of Maxwell's side.

Maxwell looks to throw the jab but Van Hook is out of range.

Maxwell is rocked!
Maxwell moves out of range of the strikes.

Van Hook waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Maxwell. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Maxwell to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Maxwell is still in real trouble! Can Van Hook finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Hook gets to his feet and stands over Maxwell, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Maxwell felt that one! Van Hook unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Maxwell from any more punishment!
