Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo de Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pereira comes into the arena with Até Quando blaring out of the sound system. Hugo de Castro will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Pereira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo de Castro!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

de Castro takes the fight into the clinch.
Pereira drops down looking for an ankle pick but de Castro pulls his leg out and moves away.
de Castro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
de Castro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pereira but Pereira pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pereira misses with a double jab.

Pereira throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. de Castro was covering up waiting for the punch and Pereira finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pereira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. de Castro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pereira postures up in de Castro's guard and throws a big left but de Castro blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pereira trying to control the position from guard on top but de Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
de Castro utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pereira postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
de Castro manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
de Castro moves to his opponent's back but Pereira bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for de Castro.

Pereira might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pereira wants to control from the top but de Castro keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

de Castro is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Pereira frees his head nicely. Oh but de Castro has switched to an armbar! Pereira is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
