The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karskin Jr throws a right hand that Carwin ducks under and follows up with a left that Carwin also avoids with ease.
Carwin takes one on the button.


It looks like Sam Carwin has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Carwin is defended easily by Karskin Jr.

Carwin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Karskin Jr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Karskin Jr wants to sweep but no luck.
Karskin Jr is working hard here to advance position.
Karskin Jr wants to get back to his feet but Carwin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carwin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karskin Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carwin stops Karskin Jr from standing up.

Karskin Jr can't keep his opponent in guard - Carwin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Carwin prevents Karskin Jr from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Karskin Jr tries to clinch there but Carwin circles away.

Karskin Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carwin manages to avoid it.
Carwin moves out of range as Karskin Jr strikes.
Karskin Jr throws a jab but it's blocked by Carwin.
Karskin Jr throws a jab when Carwin was well out of range.
Carwin looks for a takedown but Karskin Jr sprawls well.
Karskin Jr looks to score with a jab to the body but Carwin is just out of range.
Karskin Jr will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Karskin Jr misses with a looping left.
Carwin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cadian Karskin Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Carwin.

Karskin Jr is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carwin's half guard.
Karskin Jr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Karskin Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fight stays on the outside here - Karskin Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Karskin Jr throws a lazy right hand but Carwin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Karskin Jr throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Carwin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Carwin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Karskin Jr will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Carwin tries to keep at a distance but Karskin Jr has taken the fight into the clinch.
Carwin is working for takedown but Karskin Jr is calmly controlling the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Sam Carwin's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A big left from Carwin misses.
Cadian Karskin Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Carwin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Karskin Jr's guard now.
Carwin wants to control from the top but Karskin Jr keeps moving.
Carwin won't allow Karskin Jr to get back to his feet.

Carwin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Karskin Jr dives on top into guard.

Carwin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Carwin slaps away a takedown attempt from Karskin Jr, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Karskin Jr tries to clinch but Carwin is having none of it.
Karskin Jr moves into range and connects with a jab.

Karskin Jr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carwin is proving hard to escape from.

Karskin Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Karskin Jr decides to stand up.
Carwin throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Karskin Jr takes one to the side of the head.
Karskin Jr lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Cadian Karskin Jr is winning the standup battle so far.

Karskin Jr lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Carwin at a distance.
Carwin is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Karskin Jr lands with a nice combination. Carwin backs away looking to recover.

Karskin Jr gets the takedown into side control.
Karskin Jr looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Carwin is avoiding damage well.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Karskin Jr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Karskin Jr drops Carwin with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Carwin! Karskin Jr dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
