Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scoop Riggleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Broyles!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broyles tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Broyles takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Broyles throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Broyles walks into a jab.
Riggleman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Broyles circles away quickly and effectively.
Riggleman throws a shot to the body.
Riggleman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Broyles.
Broyles misses with a few strikes there.
Riggleman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Riggleman lands a head shot.
A punch combination from Broyles misses.
Riggleman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Broyles on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A shot to de liver by Riggleman. Beautiful body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Broyles can do anything to dispel that myth.

Broyles trying to keep a closed guard but Riggleman is proving a slippery customer.

Riggleman is in close to Broyles's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Broyles throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Broyles looking to hit a scissor sweep but Riggleman is one step ahead there.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Riggleman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Broyles pulls Riggleman in to control the position.
Riggleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Broyles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Riggleman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Broyles's head.
Riggleman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Broyles on the ground.
Riggleman postures up in Broyles's guard and throws a big left but Broyles blocks it.
Broyles wants to stand but Riggleman is controlling the position.
Riggleman throwing strikes but missing.

Broyles looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Riggleman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Riggleman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Riggleman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Broyles uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Broyles lands with a thumping leg kick.
Scott Broyles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Riggleman looks for a takedown but Broyles sprawls well.
Riggleman misses with a takedown attempt - Broyles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Riggleman dodges the punch combination from Broyles.
Riggleman's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Riggleman duly obliges.
Riggleman throws a series of punches but Broyles avoids them all with ease.
Broyles fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Broyles throws a series of punches but Riggleman moves out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Broyles. That's going to slow Riggleman down.
Broyles misses with a few strikes there.
Broyles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Riggleman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Broyles misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Riggleman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Broyles throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Broyles lands with a straight right. Riggleman didn't see that one coming.
Riggleman throws a right and a left that Broyles avoids nicely.
Broyles has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Broyles there as he acknowledges the shot.

Riggleman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Broyles on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Broyles swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Riggleman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Broyles takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Broyles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Riggleman throws a head kick that misses.
Broyles tries to clinch there but Riggleman circles away.
Riggleman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scoop Riggleman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Riggleman falls off balance throwing a combination
and Broyles counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Riggleman swats away the attempt to clinch by Broyles.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice body kick from Broyles.
Riggleman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Broyles tries to clinch up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scoop Riggleman dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Broyles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Broyles scores with a kick to the midsection.
Riggleman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Broyles swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Riggleman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Riggleman showed some decent athleticism there.

Riggleman throws a strike but Broyles avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Broyles is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Riggleman defends well.
Broyles wants to stand and escape but Riggleman is having none of it.
Broyles is breathing heavily.
Riggleman throws and elbow that misses. Broyles uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Riggleman's guard. Nice move by Broyles!

Broyles stands up and waves to Riggleman to follow him.
Riggleman cracks Broyles with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Riggleman throws a right hand that Broyles ducks under and follows up with a left that Broyles also avoids with ease.
Scoop Riggleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Broyles misses with a wild combination.
Broyles throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Riggleman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Riggleman gets the takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Broyles's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Broyles tries to bench press Riggleman off him but Riggleman keeps the position.

Riggleman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Broyles some visible discomfort.

Broyles might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Riggleman kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Broyles takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Riggleman is putting a hurting on Broyles here, landing some big shots from side control.
Check out the look on Riggleman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Broyles is pushing Riggleman's head away, looking to escape. Riggleman manages to hold on to the position though.

Riggleman scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Broyles is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Riggleman can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
