And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royal tries to clinch up but Connor circles away and keeps his distance.
Royal takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Royal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Connor circles away quickly and effectively.
Connor throws a combination that misses
and Royal counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Royal misses with a combination
and Connor counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Royal swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Connor holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Royal.
Connor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Connor with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Royal throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Connor counters by clinching up.
Connor gets underhooks to prevent Royal's takedown attempt.

Connor prevents a body shot from Royal.
Royal wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Connor has him pressed against the ropes.
Royal wants to get back to striking at distance but Connor won't allow it.
Royal tries for a takedown. No joy.
Royal tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Connor manages to break the clinch.
Royal wants to clinch but Connor slips to the side
and Connor counters with a stiff right hand.
Connor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Royal thows a leg kick but Connor checks it
and Connor counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Royal connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Connor lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Royal throws a left and a right that both miss
and Connor counters with a three punch combo that has Royal backing up. Royal nods at Connor to acknowledge the strikes.

Royal throws a lazy head kick
and Connor counters with a straight right hand.
Royal tries for a takedown but Connor circles away easily
and Connor counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sammy Royal. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Royal is breathing heavily.
Royal shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Connor counter with a right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Royal drops his hands momentarily and Connor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Connor wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Royal darts in trying to clinch
and Connor counters with a nice body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Connor dips to his left and cracks Royal with an uppercut!
Nice defenses there by Connor.
A punch combination from Connor misses.
Connor lands an overhand right.
Royal wants to clinch but Connor slips to the side
and Connor makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Royal tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Connor counters with a one-two to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Royal throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Connor decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Royal's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Connor scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Royal is rocked!
Connor with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Oh Royal is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Connor stands up from guard. Let's bang!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Royal ducks into an uppercut from Connor and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
