PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jukka Jumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Igo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jumi comes into the arena with War Machine blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jumi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Igo's hands.
Igo moves out of range as Jumi throws a body kick.
Jumi lands a nice looking body shot.
Jumi scores with a jab. Igo acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Igo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Igo needs to keep his hands up - Jumi had a free shot at his head there.
Igo tries to clinch there but Jumi circles away.
Igo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jumi lands with a nice body punch.

Jumi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Igo, pushing him back against the cage.

and Jumi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Igo's guard.

Jumi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Igo on the ground.

Jumi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Igo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jumi has managed to get both his arms back between Igo's legs - danger averted.
Jumi tries to free his leg and advance position but Igo is retaining full guard.

Igo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jumi defends well.

Igo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jumi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Igo.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Igo tries to keep at a distance but Jumi has taken the fight into the clinch.

Jumi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jumi lands with a hook. Igo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jumi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Igo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A clash of legs there as Igo blocks the low kick.
Jumi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jumi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Igo.

Jumi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jumi showed some decent athleticism there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jumi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Igo is able to avoid easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
