Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johan Svensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yi Jin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johan Svensson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yi Jin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svensson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Svensson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jin moves in looking to clinch but Svensson pushes him off.
Jin slaps away a takedown attempt from Svensson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Svensson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jin but Jin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Svensson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Svensson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jin defends it nicely.

Jin throws a right hand that Svensson ducks under and follows up with a left that Svensson also avoids with ease.
Svensson tries to clinch up but Jin circles away and keeps his distance.

Jin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Svensson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Svensson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Svensson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Jin pushes Svensson off looking to stand but Svensson dives back in and keeps control.

Svensson is trying to work for a kimura but Jin is defending well.
Svensson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jin misses with a takedown

and Svensson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jin's guard now.
Svensson is looking to stand up but Jin won't let him.
Svensson wants to pass the guard but Jin is keeping the position.
Jin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Jin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Svensson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Svensson is looking to take a break and control but Jin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jin looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Svensson is looking to advance position but Jin won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Svensson wants to stand and escape but instead Jin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Svensson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Svensson looks to clinch

so Jin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jin is fighting to break Svensson's control of his arms but Svensson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Svensson pushes Jin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Well Svensson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
