The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Spang does no damage.
Spang moves in looking to clinch but Picard pushes him off.

Picard closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Spang to the mat! Spang manages to get full guard.

Spang keeping busy on the bottom but Picard has passed one foot through into half guard.
Spang won't allow Picard to pass to mount.
Spang wants to improve his position but Picard is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spang looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Spang throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Picard is taking a breather. Spang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Picard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spang on the ground.

and Picard counters with a series of strikes that sends Spang to the canvas! Picard follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
