Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg VanWinkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitur Satamov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). VanWinkle comes into the arena with Motorhead - Smiling Like A Killer blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Greg VanWinkle!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitur Satamov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VanWinkle lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


It looks like Dimitur Satamov has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
VanWinkle misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Satamov looks for a takedown but VanWinkle sprawls well.
Satamov scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
VanWinkle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
VanWinkle misses with a body shot.
Satamov tries to close the distance and clinch but VanWinkle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Satamov throws a shot from downtown. VanWinkle moves away and avoids it.
Satamov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
VanWinkle lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
VanWinkle throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Satamov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but VanWinkle manages to avoid it.
Satamov misses with a few strikes there.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts VanWinkle, as that shot connected.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Satamov just misses with a punch to the body.
A jab from VanWinkle finds it's way through Satamov's defenses.
A shot to the body from VanWinkle misses
and Satamov counters with a straight right hand.
Satamov swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Satamov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Satamov looking to sit in guard and control but VanWinkle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Satamov keeping full guard, as VanWinkle tries to pass.
VanWinkle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
VanWinkle postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Satamov trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Satamov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
VanWinkle is squirming around, avoiding Satamov's attempts to control the action.
Satamov looks gassed!
Satamov landing strikes from the mount and VanWinkle is in trouble!
VanWinkle's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Satamov thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
VanWinkle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Satamov wants to control the pace but VanWinkle is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
VanWinkle tries to buck Satamov off but he can't manage it.
VanWinkle trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
A nice elbow there by Satamov.
Satamov punching from mount but VanWinkle doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Satamov goes for an armbar but VanWinkle turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from VanWinkle.
VanWinkle in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
VanWinkle keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Satamov's head.
VanWinkle landing with the ground and pound.
Satamov keeping moving, preventing VanWinkle from controlling successfully.
VanWinkle is looking to work some ground and pound but Satamov has wrist control.
VanWinkle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
VanWinkle sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Satamov's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
VanWinkle tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Satamov.
VanWinkle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Satamov slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg VanWinkle dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dimitur Satamov's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Satamov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts VanWinkle as he jumps to the side.
VanWinkle throws a combination that misses

and Satamov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Satamov looks to land a strike but VanWinkle avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
VanWinkle is looking to stand up but Satamov isn't so interested in that idea.
VanWinkle is pulling down on Satamov's head to control his posture.
VanWinkle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Satamov.
VanWinkle keeping moving, preventing Satamov from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Satamov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Satamov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. VanWinkle is keeping the position for now.
VanWinkle utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
VanWinkle lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Satamov shoots in for a takedown but VanWinkle shows good takedown defense.
Greg VanWinkle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
VanWinkle throws a series of punches but Satamov avoids them all with ease.
No joy there for Satamov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Satamov is breathing heavily.
VanWinkle connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Satamov momentarily.


That has opened up Dimitur Satamov's cut even more.
VanWinkle Rushes Satamov and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Satamov is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. VanWinkle Piles on the pressure and Satamov crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg VanWinkle!
