PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between UR Subbed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bolodenka Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Subbed throws a right hand that Kharitonov ducks under and follows up with a left that Kharitonov also avoids with ease.
Kharitonov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Subbed counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Subbed working over Kharitonov with some ground and pound. Kharitonov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Subbed passes to full mount!
Subbed punching from mount but Kharitonov doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Subbed lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Subbed fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kharitonov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Subbed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Subbed has hold of Kharitonov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kharitonov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Subbed wants to take Kharitonov's back but he can't do it this time.

Subbed swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kharitonov is now in Subbed's guard. A big mistake from Subbed there, giving up the dominant position!

Subbed throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kharitonov uses it to pass to side control.

Subbed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kharitonov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Subbed is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Subbed is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kharitonov reverses the position - he's now on top in Subbed's guard.
Subbed throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Kharitonov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Subbed wants to sweep here but Kharitonov controlling him for the moment.

Subbed escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kharitonov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Subbed looking for a guillotine here but Kharitonov defends easily.
Kharitonov wants to stand and escape but instead Subbed has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Subbed drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Subbed jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Subbed drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kharitonov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kharitonov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kharitonov!
Subbed sneaks back into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

UR Subbed dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Subbed shoots in looking for a takedown. Kharitonov tries to sprawl out of it but Subbed keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kharitonov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

and Subbed counters with a good low kick that Kharitonov was not able to check.

Bolodenka Kharitonov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Subbed counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kharitonov won't be happy with that.
Kharitonov pushes Subbed away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Subbed gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Subbed is throwing strikes by Kharitonov counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Kharitonov regains half guard.

UR Subbed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kharitonov cracks Subbed with an open hand slap.
Subbed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Subbed looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kharitonov!
Kharitonov really wants to buck Subbed off and get back to his feet.
Subbed is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Subbed tries to control but Kharitonov wriggling away.
Subbed throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kharitonov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
