The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foster fails in his attempt to clinch.
Foster chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Foster fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Schmidli avoids it really well and circles away.
Schmidli scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Foster is looking for a sweep. Schmidli is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Foster looks like he's trying to stand up.
Foster wants to improve his position but Schmidli is controlling well.
Foster trying to hold on to Schmidli's head to control him but Schmidli postures up.
Schmidli is looking for a kimura but Foster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Schmidli to get the leverage.
Foster knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schmidli on the ground.
