Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gucio Gucik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gucik comes to the cage accompanied by Dawaj na ring !!!!. Gucik has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Shane Carwin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gucio Gucik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Carwin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carwin closes the distance and clinches.

Carwin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gucik can't fight it off and eventually Carwin manages to take the fight to the floor. Gucik looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Carwin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Carwin works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Carwin stands up out of the half guard.
Gucik is breathing heavily.
Gucik throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Carwin.


It looks like Shane Carwin has been cut.
Carwin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Carwin clobbers Gucik with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gucik shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carwin pinned against the cage. Carwin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Carwin moves into the clinch successfully.

Carwin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gucik can't fight it off and eventually Carwin manages to take the fight to the floor. Gucik looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gucik throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Carwin escapes and throws Gucik's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Carwin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gucik looks a forlorn figure.

Carwin cracks Gucik with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Gucik pushes Carwin off and gets back to his feet.

Carwin forces Gucik back against the cage and clinches.
Carwin is pressed up against the cage. Gucik has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Carwin down to the mat. Carwin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gucik gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Carwin throws a shot from downtown. Gucik moves away and avoids it.
Gucik looks for a takedown but Carwin sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gucio Gucik. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carwin throws a looping overhand right but Gucik ducks down to avoid it.
Gucik fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Carwin takes the fight into the clinch.
Gucik has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carwin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Carwin has Gucik pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Carwin pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gucik tumbling to the mat - Carwin dives into Gucik's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Carwin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gucik has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carwin has managed to get both his arms back between Gucik's legs - danger averted.

Carwin gets to his feet. Gucik looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gucik connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Gucik is fighting off a takedown attempt but Carwin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gucik to the mat. Gucik regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Carwin gets to his feet - Gucik follows without any prompting.
Gucik takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Carwin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gucik to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Carwin has control of Gucik's left arm, preventing Gucik from doing any damage.

Gucik wants to get up but he can't break Carwin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Carwin wants to stand and escape but Gucik is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carwin wriggles free and stands up.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Carwin is trying to trip Gucik. He has hold of a leg but Gucik is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Carwin persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Carwin stands and steps away. Gucik gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Carwin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Carwin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gucik takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Carwin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gucik.

Gucik shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carwin pinned against the cage. Carwin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carwin tries to clinch up but Gucik circles away and keeps his distance.
Carwin moves into range and connects with a jab.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gucik is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carwin is aware though and is defending well.

Shane Carwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carwin lands with an uppercut that bounces Gucik off the cage and back into rage.

Carwin wants the takedown. Gucik is fighting it off but Carwin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gucik's guard against the cage.

Gucik escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carwin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Carwin postures up and lands a big shot to Gucik's brow.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Carwin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Shane Carwin has got the better of the ground game so far.

Carwin cracks Gucik with a solid left hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gucik tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carwin smiles and moves away.
Gucik scores with a one two! Carwin had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Carwin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carwin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gucik.
Gucio Gucik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gucik shoots in but no luck this time.
Carwin keeps the fight on the outside.
Gucik tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carwin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Carwin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Carwin manages to end up in side control.

Carwin decides to stand back up. Carwin steps back and let's Gucik get back to his feet.

Gucik is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carwin pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carwin wants to pass to mount but Gucik is defending the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Carwin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Gucik moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Carwin closes the distance and clinches.
Gucik tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carwin just stands there and leans against the cage.
Carwin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Carwin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Gucik regains guard immediately.
Carwin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gucik swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carwin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Gucik can't keep his opponent in guard - Carwin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Carwin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Carwin forces Gucik back against the cage and clinches.
Carwin lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gucik backwards.
Gucik tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carwin smiles and moves away.
Carwin leaves Gucik with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gucio Gucik. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gucik feints and as Carwin raises his hands in defense, Gucik changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gucik is working Carwin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Carwin manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gucik closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carwin circles away.
Carwin looks to land a left hand but Gucik moved out of range nicely.

Gucik is fighting off a takedown attempt but Carwin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gucik to the mat. Gucik regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carwin connects with a couple of short punches.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carwin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gucik with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well Carwin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
