PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bob Marley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marley comes to the cage accompanied by dont worry. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kowalski gets a clinch.
Kowalski tries for a takedown. No joy.
Marley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kowalski smiles and moves away.

Kowalski shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marley is looking for a sweep. Kowalski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Marley throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Marley tries to roll over but Kowalski keeps him under control.

Kowalski seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Marley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marley wants to clinch but Kowalski slips to the side

and Kowalski counters with a single leg into guard. Marley didn't expect that.

Kowalski is looking for a kimura but Marley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kowalski to get the leverage.

Marley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kowalski pulls his head out easily.

Marley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kowalski to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Marley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kowalski defends well.

Marley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kowalski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kowalski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
