PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Enos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Resetivus Morkevicius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Enos might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Buju Banton - Boom Bye Bye. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Enos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Resetivus Morkevicius!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morkevicius fails with an attempt to clinch.
Enos stuffs the takedown.
Enos connects with a solid leg kick.
George Enos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Enos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Enos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Enos jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Morkevicius is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Morkevicius and Enos has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Enos trying to control the position but Morkevicius is working away.
Enos could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Sloppy strikes there by Enos.
Enos wants to stand but Morkevicius has his arm trapped.
Morkevicius is not content to let Enos control the position.
Morkevicius is trying to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Enos throwing shots but missing, from side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Enos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Enos has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Morkevicius working for a triangle but Enos defends it easily.
Morkevicius keeping moving, preventing Enos from controlling successfully.
Enos wants to stand but Morkevicius has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Morkevicius throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Morkevicius is striking from the bottom but Enos uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Morkevicius moves into full guard.

Morkevicius isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Enos stacks Morkevicius on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Enos!
Enos landing a few strikes.
Morkevicius tries to bench press Enos off him but Enos keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Morkevicius gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Morkevicius wants to get back to full guard.
Morkevicius trying to control from the bottom.
Enos controlling the action here.
Morkevicius gets back to full guard.
Enos is breathing heavily.
Morkevicius working a defensive guard here.

Morkevicius throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Enos would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Morkevicius has his foot on Enos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Enos works his way back into a safe position though.
Enos wants to control from the top but Morkevicius keeps moving.

Morkevicius has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Enos is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Morkevicius.

Enos looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morkevicius is looking to reverse the position.

Enos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Enos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Enos is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Morkevicius will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Morkevicius tries to buck Enos off but Enos is having none of it.
Enos lands a nice forearm strike.
Enos is working Morkevicius over with some ground and pound from side control.
Morkevicius struggling a bit here.
Enos is staying tight to Morkevicius's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Enos decides to stand back up.

Enos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Enos is leaning against Morkevicius and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Enos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Enos dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Enos gets a clinch.
Nice body punch from Enos.
Enos is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Morkevicius tries to score a body lock takedown but Enos shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Enos pulls guard effortlessly.
Enos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Enos wants to sweep but no luck.
Morkevicius forces his way into half guard.
Enos makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Enos.
Morkevicius trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Enos controls Morkevicius momentarily but Morkevicius frees himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Morkevicius trying to control but Enos is working from the bottom.

Morkevicius forces his way into half guard.

Morkevicius wants to work for an arm triangle but Enos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Enos moves into full guard.
Enos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Enos working a defensive guard here.
Enos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morkevicius on the ground.
Enos keeping full guard, as Morkevicius tries to pass.
Enos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Morkevicius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Enos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Morkevicius stands up from Enos's guard - Morkevicius perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Enos closes the distance and clinches.
Enos is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Morkevicius is keeping busy.
Morkevicius has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Enos is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Morkevicius tries to pull guard but Enos holds him up against the cage and eventually Morkevicius drops back down to his feet.
George Enos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Resetivus Morkevicius.

Enos pulls guard.
Enos looking for a sweep. Not yet Enos, not yet.
Morkevicius works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Morkevicius seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Enos is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
