The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vasa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Oliveira somewhat.
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown but Vasa shows good takedown defense.
Oliveira fails with a takedown attempt.
Foti Vasa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Oliveira.
Vasa shoots for a double leg takedown but Oliveira sprawls well. He's pushed Vasa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vasa lands with an uppercut that bounces Oliveira off the cage and back into rage.
Vasa tries to bum rush Oliveira with a series of wild strikes but Oliveira uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Vasa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Oliveira's guard.

Vasa is pushing down on Oliveira's leg trying to pass to half guard. Oliveira is fighting to maintain full guard but Vasa has managed to sneak the leg through.
Vasa wants to stand up but Oliveira is controlling the position.
Vasa is keen to just control but Oliveira is a slippery customer.

Vasa has taken the fight to the clinch.

Vasa pulls Oliveira into guard.

Vasa pushes Oliveira off and gets back to his feet.
Vasa pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Oliveira misses with a takedown

and Vasa counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vasa.
Oliveira has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vasa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Oliveira is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vasa pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Vasa has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Oliveira is trying to keep an underhook but Vasa manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Vasa stands up and beckons Oliveira to join him on the feet.
Vasa tried to score with a low kick but Oliveira checks it.

Vasa is looking to break free of the clinch but Oliveira has double underhooks.

Vasa gets control of Oliveira's arms and successfully pulls guard. Vasa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
