The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandao closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Monteiro clobbers Brandao with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Brandao looks to land a right hand but Monteiro moved out of range.
Brandao sizes up Monteiro with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Brandao doesn't manage to clinch there - Monteiro circles away.
Monteiro swings for the body but Brandao moves out of range.
Monteiro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brandao.
Brandao fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Monteiro manages to avoid it.
