Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raul Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wayne Rooney!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rooney drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Peters dodges the ground and pound from Rooney.
Peters is looking to regain half guard here but Rooney keeps moving and retains side control.
Rooney tries to move into full mount but can't pass Peters's legs.
Rooney wants to control but Peters is keeping him busy.
Peters might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Peters is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rooney is controlling him well.
Rooney wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peters keeps working.
Rooney lands a decent elbow from side control.
Peters prevents Rooney from moving into mount.

Rooney is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rooney lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Rooney drops back looking for a leg! Peters is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peters manages to kick Rooney off! Rooney jumps back into Peters's guard.
Peters is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rooney is controlling him.
Rooney stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Peters is looking for a triangle but Rooney pushes his legs off easily.
Rooney wants to pass the guard but Peters is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Peters lands with a nice combination. Rooney backs away looking to recover.

and Rooney counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rooney can do anything to dispel that myth.
Peters trying to control the position from guard on top but Rooney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Peters pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rooney is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peters sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Raul Peters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Peters throws a series of punches but Rooney moves out of range.

Rooney feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rooney drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Peters manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rooney has Peters in his guard.

Wayne Rooney comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rooney has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
