PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rikki Theodosi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Hais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hais is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Time to Say Goodbye by Bocelli & Brightman. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rikki Theodosi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Vladimir Hais!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hais is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hais fails with an attempt to clinch.
Theodosi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Theodosi looks to score with a jab to the body but Hais is just out of range.
Hais tries to clinch up.
Hais has a takedown stuffed.
Hais doesn't manage to clinch there - Theodosi circles away.
Theodosi keeps the fight on the outside.
Vladimir Hais seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hais closes the distance and clinches up with Theodosi, looking for a takedown. Hais pushes Theodosi against the cage but Theodosi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hais on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Hais shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hais was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Theodosi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hais pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hais looking to control but Theodosi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Hais has control of Theodosi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Theodosi regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Hais controlling the position easily from mount.
Theodosi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Theodosi tries to get out of the position.
Theodosi squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Hais is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Theodosi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Theodosi wants to get back to his feet.
Hais takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hais throws some wild stikes that Theodosi manages to avoid easily.
Theodosi is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hais working for a guillotine from mount but Theodosi is in no mood to give up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hais looking to control but Theodosi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Theodosi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hais.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Theodosi tries to buck Hais off but he can't manage it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hais is trying to take his opponent's back.

Hais goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Theodosi turns into him and now he's in Hais's guard.
Theodosi wants to stand but Hais is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hais working for a triangle but Theodosi defends it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Theodosi is posturing up here but Hais has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Theodosi tries to roll out but it's too tight and Theodosi has to tap! Slick submission there by Hais!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vladimir Hais!
