Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Klark Tsemppu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Concrete Schoolyard. On his way into the cage it seems that Klark Tsemppu has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Klark Tsemppu seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tsemppu avoids it really well and circles away.
Tsemppu misses with a leg kick.
Tsemppu scoring well with a low kick there.

Tsemppu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Machida is pressing down on Tsemppu's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machida bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tsemppu's guard.
Machida postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Machida throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tsemppu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Tsemppu is pulling down on Machida's head. It's preventing any offense from Machida, at least for the moment.

Machida tries to free his leg and advance position but Tsemppu is retaining full guard.

Tsemppu looking for a guillotine here but Machida defends easily.
Machida stands and throws Tsemppu's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Machida grinds an elbow into Tsemppu's temple.

You can see the frustration on Tsemppu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Machida has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Machida is looking for a triangle but Tsemppu pushes his legs off easily.
Tsemppu wants to control from the top but Machida keeps moving.
Tsemppu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tsemppu is pushing down on Machida's leg trying to pass to half guard. Machida is fighting to maintain full guard but Tsemppu has managed to sneak the leg through.

Tsemppu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Machida does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tsemppu is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Tsemppu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Machida doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tsemppu.

Machida is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Tsemppu is staying active.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Machida closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tsemppu tries to roll over but Machida keeps him under control.
Tsemppu is not content to let Machida control the position.

Tsemppu wants to improve his position but Machida is controlling well.
Machida wants to control but Tsemppu is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tsemppu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Machida decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tsemppu's guard.

Machida postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tsemppu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Machida, into his guard.

Machida has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tsemppu should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Machida has tightened it up now! Tsemppu should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
