Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brijwanth J!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Perry!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. J catches Perry right on the button with a cross.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Perry slips a jab from J.
J thows a body shot but no joy.
Perry misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Perry dives in and grabs J's left leg, looking for a takedown. J pushes down on Perry's head and hops out.
J jabbing away but nothing is landing.
J throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Brijwanth J seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
J defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Perry.
J lands a jab to the nose.
J closes the distance and lands a one-two.
This has been an exciting period of action!
J throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
J throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
J lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
J throws a jab but it's blocked by Perry.
J misses with a straight left.
J just misses with a punch to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perry bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
J throws a hook but Perry blocks it.
J misses with an uppercut. Perry saw that one coming.
J throws a shot from downtown. Perry moves away and avoids it.
J throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
J lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
J thows a body shot but no joy.
A big right from J misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
J misses with a two punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brijwanth J dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


J looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Perry moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Perry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. J tries to avoid it but Perry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag J to the ground. J escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Perry takes a shot right to the bread basket.
J misses with an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
J misses with a looping right.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Perry is defended easily by J.
Perry closes this distance looking for a takedown but J circles away.
Brijwanth J has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Perry.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
J moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
J tests Perry's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Perry takes a swing at J's ribcage but misses.

J swings for the body but Perry moves out of range.

Perry changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. J looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Perry tries for a kimura but J is defending well.

Perry working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
J tries to escape but Perry is in control.

Perry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. J knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brijwanth J dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


J misses with a looping right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
J swings and misses with a hook to the body.

A swing and a miss from J.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Perry.
Perry prevents J from escaping the position.

Perry tries for a kimura but J is defending well.

Perry looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

J throws Perry to one side and escapes!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Perry checks the leg kick nicely there.

J gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Perry to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Perry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Perry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perry works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Perry is trying to work for a kimura but J is defending well.
Perry moves nicely into side control.

Perry tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Perry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. J knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
J is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Perry is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. J looks calm but he's in trouble here. Perry gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. J is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Perry lets go of the hold and J can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Steve Perry!
