The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards throws and low kick but Wise moves out of range easily.
Richards tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wise sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Richards somewhat.
Richards shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wise sprawls well. Wise wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Richards gets slowly back to his feet.
Wise slips under a jab.

Wise just misses with a punch to the body.
Wise stuffs the takedown attempt from Richards. Richards gets slowly back to his feet.
Dennis Wise has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Richards.
Wise connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Richards momentarily.
Wise looks to land a right hand but Richards moved out of range.
Wise scores with a jab to the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Richards fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wise sprawls well initially but Richards persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wise wants to get back to his feet.

Richards is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wise pushes Richards off looking to stand but Richards dives back in and keeps control.

Richards is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wise doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Richards.
Wise is looking to escape.

Richards is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wise defends it well.

Wise manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wise displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Richards.
Richards looks gassed!
Wise lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wise defending well as Richards loads up on a big left hand.
Wise lunges at Richards with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Richards's hand.
No joy there for Richards, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wise moves out of range of the strikes.
Wise cracks Richards on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Richards falls backwards against the cage. Wise follows up with more strikes that drop Richards to his knees. Wise keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Richards! This one is all over!
