And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peanut Jelly!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jelly is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Jelly is pressing down on Gracie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Gracie stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Renato Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
Jelly is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jelly has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jelly is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Jelly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie wants to pass the guard but Jelly is keeping the position.
Gracie won't allow Jelly to sweep him here.
Gracie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Gracie trying to control but Jelly is working from the bottom.
Gracie stops Jelly from standing up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jelly drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jelly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gracie prevents Jelly from standing back up.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jelly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jelly wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.

Gracie is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jelly is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
