The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wacky looks for a takedown but Pierre sprawls well.
Pierre throws a right hand that Wacky ducks under and follows up with a left that Wacky also avoids with ease.
Wacky wants to land a leg kick but Pierre is out of range.
Wacky clinches.
Pierre tries to break the clinch but Wacky is controlling the position.
Wacky tries for a takedown. No joy.
Wacky wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Wacky is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pierre pulls him back up using the underhooks.
David Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacky Wacky.
Wacky is trying to drag Pierre to the mat but Pierre just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pierre wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wacky has him pressed against the cage.

Wacky goes for a takedown attempt but Pierre pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pierre throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Wacky shoots in for a double leg but Pierre sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pierre thuds his shin into the meat of Wacky's side.

David Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pierre throws a series of punches but Wacky moves out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wacky fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pierre avoids it really well and circles away.
Pierre swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wacky.
It looks like Jacky Wacky has been cut.
Pierre connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Pierre lands a left and a right that send Wacky crashing to the mat, dazed. Pierre thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wacky is rocked!
Pierre seems to be stalking Wacky here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Wacky drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
