Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shariq Abdul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shariq Abdul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy D!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abdul manages to avoid it.

Abdul takes the fight into the clinch.
D is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Abdul prevents the takedown attempt.

D lands a takedown into guard.

Abdul working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. D doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. D manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Abdul had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. D defends it easily.
D tries to free his leg and advance position but Abdul is retaining full guard.
D is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
D won't allow Abdul to sweep him here.
Abdul wants to stand up but D is controlling him.

Abdul looking to control but D passes into half guard.
Abdul is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
D thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ground and pound from D.

D is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Abdul keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
D is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

D is thwarting Abdul's attempts to control the position.
D trying to pass the guard but Abdul defending well.
Abdul is trying to defend against the ground and pound but D scores with a couple of nice shots.
D thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Abdul's head.
D missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
D throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
D lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Abdul blocking the ground and pound attempt from D.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abdul on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

D is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Abdul defends it well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
D throwing shots but Abdul is blocking nicely.
Abdul regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from D.
D stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Abdul swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
D misses the shot to the body.

Abdul looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

D escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Abdul gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Abdul advances to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy D dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Abdul fails to land the takedown.
D throws an overhand right that lands on Abdul's shoulder, as Abdul tries to avoid the shot.
D throws a body punch but Abdul moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Abdul. No joy for D on that attempt.
Abdul swats away the attempt to clinch by D.
D fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abdul manages to avoid it.

Abdul gets caught flat footed, as D shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
D wants to pass the guard but Abdul is keeping the position.
D preventing the sweep.

D drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Abdul manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now D has Abdul in his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

D is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Abdul has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of D is proving hard to escape from.
D keeping full guard, as Abdul tries to pass.

Abdul gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

D scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Abdul is trying to control D's posture but D avoids it.
Abdul really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

D has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Abdul is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. D yanks on the arm and Abdul is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by D.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Billy D!
