PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Halperin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Felix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halperin comes to the cage accompanied by I am going to kill you (with the help of Muno). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Halperin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Junior Felix!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halperin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Halperin tries to clinch up but Felix circles away and keeps his distance.
Halperin is looking to clinch but Felix is avoiding it.
Halperin doesn't manage to clinch there - Felix circles away.

Felix clinches.

Felix tightens his grip and picks Halperin up, before dumping him to the ground. Halperin manages to land in guard.
Felix trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Halperin is looking for a triangle but Felix pushes his legs off easily.
Felix slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Halperin working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Felix has passed into half guard!
Felix seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Felix is looking to take a break and control but Halperin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Halperin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Felix has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Halperin to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Felix is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Halperin pulls down on the head and he's put Felix to sleep! This one is all over!
