Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Uriel Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wilson Soto!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto shoots for a double leg takedown but Angel sprawls well. He's pushed Soto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Angel slaps away a takedown attempt from Soto, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Angel throws a right and a left that Soto avoids nicely.
Angel takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Soto lands a jab to Angel's midsection.
Angel lands a head kick. Soto smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Soto looks for a takedown but Angel sprawls well.
Uriel Angel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wilson Soto.
Nice sprawl there from Angel as Soto shoots in.
Angel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Soto.

Angel moves into range and clinches up with Soto.
Soto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Angel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Angel rushes Soto and presses him up against the cage.
Soto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Angel walks away with a smile on his face. Soto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Angel throws a nice outside leg kick.
Soto is looking to clinch but Angel is avoiding it.

Angel has closed the distance and engaged Soto in a clinch.
Soto is trying to break the clinch but Angel is controlling him.
Angel throws a knee to the head but misses.

Angel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Soto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Angel tries to avoid it but Soto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Angel to the ground. Angel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Uriel Angel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Angel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nice cross by Angel.
Angel digs a good hook to Soto's body.
Soto looks gassed!
Soto tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A right-left combo lands from Angel.

Angel has taken the fight to the clinch.

Angel jumps into guard, dragging Soto to the mat.
Angel wants to stand up but Soto is controlling him.

Angel is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Soto won't allow Angel to sweep him here.

Angel pushes Soto off and scrambles back to his feet.
Soto takes one to the chin there.
Angel walks into a left hand.
Soto takes a kick to the side of the head.
No joy there for Soto, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Soto is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Angel throws a nice outside leg kick.
Angel stuffs the takedown.
Angel lands with an uppercut that bounces Soto off the cage and back into rage.

Angel throws a nice inside leg kick.

Angel moves into the clinch successfully.

Angel breaks the clinch.
Angel throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Soto throws a sloppy head kick and Angel moves out of range easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Angel.
Angel throws a left and a right that both miss

and Soto counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

No joy there for Angel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Angel connects with a high kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Uriel Angel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Soto fails with a takedown attempt.
Soto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Angel is fending him off so far but Soto persists. Nope, Angel circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Soto moves out of range of the body kick.
A punch combination from Soto misses.
Soto takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
An inside leg kick lands from Angel.
Angel swinging wilding here.
Nice takedown defense from Angel. No joy for Soto on that attempt.
Angel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Soto circles away quickly and effectively.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Angel.
Angel throws a series of punches but Soto moves out of range.
Soto closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Soto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Angel is fending him off so far but Soto persists. Nope, Angel circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Angel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Soto takes an elbow to the forehead.

Angel manages to break the clinch.
Angel lands the left hand.
Soto's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Angel connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Angel lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Angel throws a head kick that half lands.
A punch combination from Angel misses.
Angel throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Angel scores with a head kick.
Angel pushes Soto away with a front kick.
Angel scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Soto tries to clinch up

Soto jumps guard but Angel stands there with Soto around his waist. Soto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Uriel Angel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wilson Soto.

Angel lands a shot to the body.

Angel breaks the clinch.
Angel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Angel tries to clinch up but Soto circles away and keeps his distance.
Soto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Angel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Angel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Angel throws a good cross that connects.
Angel scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Soto tries to keep at a distance but Angel has taken the fight into the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Angel.
Soto is trying desperately to land a takedown but Angel is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Soto.

Angel breaks from the clinch.
Angel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Soto moves away.
Angel throws a body punch but Soto moves out of range.
Angel lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A swing and a miss from Angel.
Soto dives in and grabs Angel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Angel pushes down on Soto's head and hops out.
A combination from Angel does no damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Angel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Uriel Angel is winning the standup battle so far.
Soto misses with a takedown
and Angel counters with a series of strikes. Soto will be more careful next time no doubt.

Angel throws a left and a right that both miss

and Soto counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Soto.
Soto has had enough of the clinch but Angel keeps him there for the moment.
Angel landing some nice looking knees to the body.

and Soto counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Angel!
Soto tries to control but Angel wriggling away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angel tries to buck Soto off but Soto takes his back!
Angel is trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uriel Angel dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Soto crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Angel - the referee stops the clock and Soto gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Angel. Soto manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Angel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Soto.
Soto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Angel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Soto counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Angel has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Angel wants to control but Soto passes easily into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Angel wants to control but Soto is keeping busy.

Soto landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Angel is looking to control Soto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Angel avoid being mounted?
Soto is keen to just control but Angel is a slippery customer.
Angel is trying to stand.
Soto works his way into side control.
Soto controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Angel can't do much from the bottom here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Angel wants to get back to his feet.

Soto cracks Angel with a big elbow.
Angel is pushing Soto's head away, looking to escape. Soto manages to hold on to the position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Soto avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Soto misses with a double jab.
Angel lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Soto shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Angel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Soto distracts Angel with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Angel is pulling down on Soto's head. It's preventing any offense from Soto, at least for the moment.

Angel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Soto on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Angel throws a head kick that misses.
Angel stuffs the takedown attempt from Soto. Soto gets slowly back to his feet.
Soto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Angel.
Uriel Angel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wilson Soto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Uriel Angel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Angel catches Soto with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

And that's the end of the fight!
Wilson Soto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Angel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
