PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aliosa Saltykov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremiah Russel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Saltykov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I'ts a fight. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russel scores with a decent looking hook.

Saltykov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Russel, pushing him back against the cage.
Russel wants to break the clinch but can't.
Saltykov has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Russel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Saltykov has picked Russel up - he's going for a ride! Saltykov dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Russel tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Saltykov manages to move to mount!
Saltykov sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Saltykov has control of Russel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Russel regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Russel is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Russel defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Saltykov.

Saltykov has hold of Russel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Russel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Russel tries to buck Saltykov off but he can't manage it.

Saltykov looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Saltykov throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Russel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saltykov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saltykov is breathing heavily.

Saltykov is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Saltykov!
