Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Take Kobayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Mcpaene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Take Kobayashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Mcpaene!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobayashi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mcpaene.
Mcpaene closes the distance and clinches up with Kobayashi, looking for a takedown. Mcpaene pushes Kobayashi against the cage but Kobayashi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mcpaene shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kobayashi is trying to maintain the position but Mcpaene is very close to passing his half guard.

Kobayashi looking for submissions off his back.
Kobayashi is staying active underneath Mcpaene, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kobayashi wants to improve his position but Mcpaene is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kobayashi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcpaene's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcpaene's back!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mcpaene is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kobayashi is aware though and is defending well.

Kobayashi wants to stand and escape but instead Mcpaene has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mcpaene in particular looking to stall.

Mcpaene wants to work for an arm triangle but Kobayashi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mcpaene is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Joe Mcpaene showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
