Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Jennings Bryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Taylor Swift- Love Story. William Jennings Bryan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Jennings Bryan!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Garcia.
Bryan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bryan throws a head kick that half lands.
Bryan throws a head kick but Garcia moves out of range.
Bryan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bryan looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bryan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garcia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Garcia tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bryan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bryan controls the position.

Bryan tries to close the distance and clinch but Garcia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bryan cracks the inside of Garcia's front leg.

Bryan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Garcia has his foot on Bryan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bryan works his way back into a safe position though.
Garcia wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Garcia is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Bryan is defending well though. Garcia let's go of the attempt for now.

Garcia connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bryan. Bryan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Garcia closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Garcia feints and as Bryan raises his hands in defense, Garcia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Garcia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bryan is looking to stand up but Garcia isn't so interested in that idea.

Garcia is fighting to break Bryan's control of his arms but Bryan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Garcia avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Bryan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Garcia!

Bryan lets loose with a powerful body kick. Garcia will feel that in the morning.
Bryan tries a head kick but it misses.

Bryan clinches up with Garcia and pushes him back against the cage.
Garcia has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bryan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bryan walks away with a smile on his face. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bryan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Garcia is looking to control Bryan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Garcia avoid being mounted?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bryan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Garcia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bryan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bryan gets to his feet. Garcia looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

A slapping leg kick lands for Bryan.
Bryan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
William Jennings Bryan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Bryan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Garcia. That did some damage!
Garcia doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bryan counters with a good low kick that Garcia was not able to check.
Marcelo Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Garcia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bryan counters with a low kick, right behind Garcia 's knee.

William Jennings Bryan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bryan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
