Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nunchi Halonchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Tibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andre Tibbs acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nunchi Halonchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andre Tibbs!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Halonchi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Halonchi is pressing down on Tibbs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tibbs is holding on for now.

Tibbs wants to control but Halonchi is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Halonchi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Tibbs is surviving well by controlling Halonchi's body position as best he can.

Tibbs's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Halonchi has hold of Tibbs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tibbs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Halonchi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tibbs has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Halonchi is landing with some decent strikes but Tibbs is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Halonchi wants to finish this one by submission but Tibbs is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Halonchi.

Tibbs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halonchi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Halonchi is landing with some decent strikes but Tibbs is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Tibbs tries to reverse the position but Halonchi maintains control.

Halonchi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tibbs can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Halonchi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tibbs is looking to escape.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tibbs can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tibbs holds on, trying desperately to control.
Halonchi avoids the attempt from Tibbs to control.
Tibbs might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Halonchi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Halonchi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Tibbs regains half guard.
Tibbs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Halonchi is trying to control the action in half guard but Tibbs is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Halonchi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tibbs is just riding it out for now. Halonchi eventually gives up the hold.
Halonchi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tibbs!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tibbs tries to clinch up but Halonchi circles away and keeps his distance.

Halonchi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Halonchi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Halonchi wants it to stay on the feet.
Nunchi Halonchi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Halonchi closes the distance and pushes Tibbs back into the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Halonchi - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Halonchi has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tibbs clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Halonchi controlling well, preventing Tibbs from escaping the position.
Halonchi has Tibbs flattened out and is raining down punches.
Nunchi Halonchi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Halonchi is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Tibbs has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Tibbs is covering up but some of the strikes from Halonchi are getting through and doing damage.

Tibbs is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Halonchi gets his way!

Halonchi is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tibbs knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tibbs for a finish.
Halonchi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tibbs tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
