PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Esperanza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rollins comes to the cage accompanied by Depression. Jimmy Esperanza is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Rollins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Esperanza!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esperanza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rollins as he jumps to the side.

Rollins clinches.
Rollins tries to land knees in the clinch but Esperanza avoids the damage to the body.
Esperanza jumps guard but Rollins stands there with Esperanza around his waist. Esperanza gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Esperanza drags the fight down to the ground.
Rollins trying to control the position from guard on top but Esperanza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rollins sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Esperanza's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rollins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rollins is looking to take a break and control but Esperanza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rollins is refusing to be controlled, as Esperanza sits in half guard.
Rollins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Esperanza wants to stand up but Rollins manages to regain full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Henry Rollins will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Henry Rollins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rollins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
