Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerhard Wagner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Walker!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagner thows a body shot but no joy.
Walker tries to close the distance and clinch but Wagner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Walker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wagner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wagner drives through with a takedown into guard.
Walker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wagner is one step ahead there.

Wagner is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Walker can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Wagner jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Walker is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Walker and Wagner has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Walker sneaks out the side door and pushes Wagner away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

and Wagner decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Walker's guard.
Wagner stands and throws Walker's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Wagner thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Wagner seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Walker for as long as he can get away with.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wagner is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Walker has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Wagner wants to finish this one by submission but Walker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wagner.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wagner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wagner is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Walker has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Walker!

Walker tries to lock up and control but Wagner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Wagner loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Walker scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Wagner land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Wagner stands and salutes the crowd.
