PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pat Marr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solid Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marr's entrance music is Earthshine by Rush. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pat Marr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Solid Snake!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Marr or perhaps it was just good defense by Snake which made him look bad.
Marr shoots for a takedown but Snake saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Marr shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Snake is trying to defend but Marr finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Marr moves nicely into side control.
Snake wants to get back to his feet but Marr drags him back down.
Marr works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Snake takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Snake explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Marr scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Marr wants to work for an arm triangle but Snake is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Snake is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Snake is in a horrible position here. Marr smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Marr lands a big shot there that rocks Snake but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Snake takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Marr throwing strikes here but Snake is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Marr working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Snake slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Marr seems to be working for a kimura but Snake defends the submission attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Snake takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Marr shoots in but Snake avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Marr shoots for a double leg takedown but Snake sprawls well. He's pushed Marr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Snake throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marr stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Snake connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Snake stuffs the takedown attempt from Marr. Marr gets slowly back to his feet.

Snake throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Marr takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Marr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Snake tries to bum rush Marr with a series of wild strikes but Marr uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Snake lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Snake.

Marr has managed to clinch.
Marr makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Snake wants to break the clinch but can't.
Marr lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Marr has Snake pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Snake manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Marr wants a takedown.

Marr keeps control of Snake as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Marr changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Snake fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Marr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Snake as he jumps to the side.
Marr looks to land a right hand but Snake moved out of range.

Snake looks to score with a jab to the body but Marr is just out of range.

Marr tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Snake swivels and escapes.

Solid Snake is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Snake throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Marr has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Snake looks to land a combination. Marr sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snake goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Marr is rocked!
A lazy left from Snake finds it's target.
Oh Marr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Snake throws a one two combo.
Marr loses concentration momentarily and Snake pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Marr crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Snake finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Solid Snake!
