PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam MacIntyre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rellik X (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MacIntyre comes to the cage accompanied by Forever, by Throwdown. X is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Broken Dreams. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

X drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacIntyre keeping full guard, as X tries to pass.
X passes into half guard.
MacIntyre tries to roll over but X keeps him under control.
X looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
MacIntyre is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of X's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take X's back!
MacIntyre controls the action.

MacIntyre is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. X knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften X for a finish.
X is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

MacIntyre is persistently looking for the submission but X is defending it well.
X is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from MacIntyre 's hooks.
MacIntyre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You get the feeling that X really doesn't like being in this position too much.

MacIntyre swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and X is now in MacIntyre's guard. A big mistake from MacIntyre there, giving up the dominant position!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
MacIntyre throws a body punch but X moves out of range.
MacIntyre is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
X lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but MacIntyre circles away quickly and effectively.
X looks to land a combination but MacIntyre avoids it well.
X wants to clinch up but MacIntyre keeps it at a distance.
X throws a right and a left that MacIntyre avoids nicely.
X's corner calls for a 1-2. X obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
MacIntyre takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
X looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
X fails in his attempt to clinch.

X feints and as MacIntyre raises his hands in defense, X changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
MacIntyre is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

MacIntyre is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That was a close round but I would say that Adam MacIntyre will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

X throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
X is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

MacIntyre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with X but X pushes him off and we're back to square one.
MacIntyre is trying hard to land a takedown here. X sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

X leaves MacIntyre with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

X fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
X stalks MacIntyre and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into MacIntyre's face. MacIntyre staggers backwards, shaken.
X throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
MacIntyre avoids a punch combination nicely.

MacIntyre tries to keep at a distance but X has taken the fight into the clinch.
X wants to break free but MacIntyre has control.
MacIntyre's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
X looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

MacIntyre has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed X clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

X moves into the clinch.

X's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

X throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. MacIntyre was covering up waiting for the punch and X finishes the takedown easily into guard.
X must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
X slips nicely into half guard.
MacIntyre is not content to let X control the position.

MacIntyre is bucking up trying to escape but X cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rellik X showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

X's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and X duly obliges.

X shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
MacIntyre tries to reverse the position but X maintains control.
X lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
MacIntyre slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
MacIntyre keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Rellik X has got the better of the ground game so far.
X stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. MacIntyre swivels though and keeps the full guard.
X wants to control from the top but MacIntyre keeps moving.

X's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
MacIntyre fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

MacIntyre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. X tries to avoid it but MacIntyre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag X to the ground. X escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

X wants to get back to his feet but MacIntyre is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

MacIntyre postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! X is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of MacIntyre, into his guard.

Rellik X comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well X has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
