Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sun Ce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Valasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sun Ce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Valasquez!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valasquez misses with a wild combination.
Valasquez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ce looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Valasquez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Valasquez stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sun Ce. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Valasquez throws a series of punches but Ce moves out of range.
Sun Ce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ce looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ce pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valasquez is keeping the position for now.

Ce trying to control the position from guard on top but Valasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ce postures up in Valasquez's guard and throws a big left but Valasquez blocks it.
Ce missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Valasquez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ce.
Ce has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Valasquez is proving hard to escape from.
Ce prevents Valasquez from getting back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Valasquez misses with a few strikes there.
Valasquez scores with a three punch combo!

Ce clinches with his opponent.
Stalling in the clinch from Valasquez.
Valasquez trying to stall but Ce improves his position.
Ce is trying to drag Valasquez to the mat but Valasquez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ce drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Valasquez gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Valasquez prevents the takedown attempt.

Valasquez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Valasquez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Valasquez misses with a wild combination.

Ce feints and as Valasquez raises his hands in defense, Ce changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Valasquez is trying to keep Ce in close.
Valasquez looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ce stands and throws Valasquez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ce trying to control the action but Valasquez is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ce in side control, throwing shots but Valasquez defends.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sun Ce will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ce tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Valasquez swivels and escapes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ce is defended easily by Valasquez.
Ce wants to clinch.
Ce showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Valasquez.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ce shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valasquez looks to land a combination but Ce avoids it well.

Ce shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Valasquez is breathing heavily.

Ce is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Valasquez is surviving well by controlling Ce's body position as best he can.
Valasquez tries to hold on but Ce postures up.

Ce looking to secure an arm triangle but Valasquez defends it well.
Ce scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Valasquez?

Ce is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Valasquez has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ce has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ce looking for a guillotine from mount but Valasquez is having none of it.
Ce has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Valasquez's face.

Ce is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Valasquez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ce looking to finish with strikes here!

Ce wants to control the pace but Valasquez is squirming around nicely.

Ce working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Valasquez looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Ce! Submission of the night perhaps?
