PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Inuyasha Kagome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tatum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatum has chosen Time to Play the Game as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Inuyasha Kagome!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Tatum!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kagome tries to clinch there but Tatum circles away.

Kagome moves into the clinch successfully.

Tatum jumps guard and drags Kagome to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kagome would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Tatum looking for a sweep. Not yet Tatum, not yet.
Tatum throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Tatum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kagome doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kagome manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kagome wants to stand but Tatum has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kagome controls from within his opponent's guard.
Tatum keeping moving, preventing Kagome from controlling successfully.
Kagome would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kagome tries to free his leg and advance position but Tatum is retaining full guard.
Tatum keeping moving, preventing Kagome from controlling successfully.
Kagome trying to stand up but can't free himself from Tatum's guard.
Kagome stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tatum swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tatum closes the distance but Kagome moves to the side
and Kagome counters with a thumping low kick.
Kagome throws a quick inside leg kick.
Tatum fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tatum throws a right hand that Kagome ducks under and follows up with a left that Kagome also avoids with ease.
Tatum looks gassed!
Kagome throws a head kick but Tatum moves out of range.
Tatum misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kagome throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Kagome lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kagome throws a nice outside leg kick.

Kagome takes the fight into the clinch.
Kagome is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Kagome landing knees to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kagome stalling against the ropes.

Kagome breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kagome closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Nice elbow from Kagome.
Kagome lands an elbow inside.


It looks like David Tatum has been cut.
Tatum is trying to force a seperation but Kagome has the dominant position.

Kagome's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kagome closes the distance and pushes Tatum back into the ropes.

Tatum takes a knee right on the jaw!

Kagome manages to break the clinch.

Kagome throws a nice head kick!

Tatum tries to keep at a distance but Kagome has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tatum should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kagome lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kagome dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tatum. That did some damage!
Kagome wants to clinch but Tatum slips to the side

and Tatum counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kagome wants to stand and escape but Tatum is having none of it.
Kagome keeping moving, preventing Tatum from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Inuyasha Kagome dominated that round.
The cut man is working on David Tatum's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kagome throws a body punch but Tatum moves out of range.
Tatum with a poor takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Tatum misses with a takedown attempt
and Kagome counters with a leg kick.
Tatum takes a kick to the side of the head.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kagome.
Kagome chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Kagome fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tatum, pushing him back against the ropes.
Tatum takes an elbow to the temple.
Kagome manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kagome scores a nice knee to the body.
Kagome displaying some good clinch control by pressing Tatum up against the ropes.

Kagome's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kagome throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tatum.
Tatum is breathing heavily.

Kagome closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Kagome manages to break the clinch.

Kagome has Tatum up against the ropes in a clinch.
Tatum tries to pull guard but Kagome holds him up against the ropes and eventually Tatum drops back down to his feet.
Inuyasha Kagome has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Tatum.
Tatum takes a knee right on the jaw!


That has opened up David Tatum's cut even more.

Kagome breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kagome has Tatum up against the ropes in a clinch.
Kagome lands a knee to the head.
Kagome's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Kagome scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Kagome breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kagome goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tatum gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Tatum tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kagome lands a high kick!
Tatum takes a head kick and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kagome fails in his attempt to clinch.

Kagome clinches.
Kagome lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Nice elbow from Kagome.


The cut above David Tatum's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kagome landing knees to the head.

Kagome pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Kagome.
Kagome throws a nice inside leg kick.

Kagome moves into the clinch successfully.
Kagome stalling in the clinch.
Tatum takes an elbow to the forehead.
Kagome pressing his opponent against the ropes.
Tatum's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tatum takes an elbow to the temple.
Kagome landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Kagome lands a knee to the body.
Kagome lands an elbow just above Tatum 's eye.


David Tatum's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Kagome lands an elbow inside that Tatum shrugs off.
Kagome lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Kagome slowing the pace effectively.
Kagome comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at David Tatum's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Inuyasha Kagome!
