Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hikaru Monotoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Monotoshi's choice of entrance music: Stooges - Search and Destroy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hikaru Monotoshi!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bones lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Hikaru Monotoshi has been cut.
Monotoshi shoots in for a takedown but Bones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bones throws a series of punches but Monotoshi moves out of range.
Bones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Monotoshi doesn't seem bothered though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Monotoshi is controlling him.

Bones is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bones throws a hook but Monotoshi avoids it easily.
Bones looks to land a left hand but Monotoshi moved out of range nicely.
Monotoshi shoots in for a double leg but Bones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


The fighters circling - Bones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Monotoshi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bones's knee momentarily.

and Monotoshi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Monotoshi is trying to work for a kimura but Bones is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Monotoshi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bones looks a forlorn figure.
Bones is squirming around, avoiding Monotoshi's attempts to control the action.
Monotoshi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bones kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Monotoshi lands a heavy elbow.

Monotoshi stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Monotoshi throws a right and a left that Bones avoids nicely.

Bones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Monotoshi has him pressed against the cage.
Bones has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Monotoshi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Monotoshi manages to end up in side control.
Bones is pushing Monotoshi's head away, looking to escape. Monotoshi manages to hold on to the position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hikaru Monotoshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Bones throws a looping overhand right but Monotoshi ducks down to avoid it.

Bones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bones tries to get out of the position.

Monotoshi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bones is surviving well by controlling Monotoshi's body position as best he can.

Monotoshi throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Bones has his hands clasped together but Monotoshi breaks the hold and Bones is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Monotoshi!
