PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Colt Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taro Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Slaughterhouse-Microphone. The crowd seem to be enjoying Mishima's choice of entrance music: Heavy Metal Samurai. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Taro Mishima enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taro Mishima!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris lands a nice hook to Mishima's body. Mishima takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Harris shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mishima napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mishima is trying to control Harris's posture but Harris avoids it.

Harris tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Mishima gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mishima holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Mishima wants to control but Harris is keeping busy.

Harris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mishima is just riding it out for now. Harris eventually gives up the hold.
Harris tries to pass to full mount but Mishima defends it.

The fighters are battling for position here. Mishima manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Harris will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mishima has control of Harris's left arm, preventing Harris from doing any damage.
Harris is looking to work some ground and pound but Mishima has wrist control.

Harris is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mishima working for a triangle but Harris defends it easily.
Harris trying to control but Mishima is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mishima has his foot on Harris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harris works his way back into a safe position though.

Harris throws a strike but Mishima rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mishima content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Harris has locked up a guillotine! Harris's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mishima is holding on here and Harris must be using up a lot of energy. Mishima has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Harris gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
