PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Fett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Hubert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hubert has chosen In Ashes They Shall Reap as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hubert is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fett sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hubert shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fett manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hubert tries to stand but Fett is controlling from the bottom.
Fett is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fett is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hubert doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fett.

Hubert is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fett's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fett's back!

Fett rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Fett makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fett.

Fett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hubert can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hubert wants to control from the top but Fett keeps moving.

Hubert gets to his feet. Fett looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hubert has a takedown stuffed.

Hubert closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fett to the mat! Fett manages to get full guard.
Hubert looks gassed!

Fett has his foot on Hubert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hubert works his way back into a safe position though.

Hubert slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hubert must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fett is looking for a triangle but Hubert pushes his legs off easily.

Fett has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hubert is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fett.

Hubert decides to stand back up. Hubert steps back and let's Fett get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hubert shoots for a takedown but Fett saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bubba Fett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marvin Hubert.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fett.
Hubert can't do much from the bottom here.

Fett is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hubert looks calm but he's in trouble here. Fett gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hubert is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Fett lets go of the hold and Hubert can pop his arm back in it's socket.
