Jamie Foxx- Gold Digger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. David Thompson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nobre shoots in for a double leg but Thompson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nobre looks for a takedown but Thompson sprawls well.

Thompson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Thompson is trying to control. Nobre wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Thompson wants to stand up but Nobre has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Thompson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Nobre shoots and misses

and Thompson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nobre won't be happy with that.
David Thompson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Nobre.
Nobre tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nobre wants to control but Thompson postures up.
Nobre looks gassed!

Thompson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nobre has escaped the position, nice work there.

so Thompson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Thompson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nobre on the ground.
Nobre keeping moving, preventing Thompson from controlling successfully.
Nobre is pulling down on Thompson's head to control his posture.

Thompson tries to stand but Nobre is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nobre is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Thompson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nobre is proving hard to escape from.

Nobre looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Thompson is defending well. Nobre quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Thompson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Nobre celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
