The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polinsky looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nova is fending him off so far but Polinsky persists. Nope, Nova circles away and we're back to standing.
Polinsky shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Kai Polinsky has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Polinsky is defended easily by Nova.
Polinsky looks for a takedown but Nova sprawls well.
Viktor Nova has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kai Polinsky.
Nova keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Polinsky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Nova cracks Polinsky with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nova has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Polinsky to stand back up!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nova lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Polinsky is looking to close the distance but Nova sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Polinsky crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Polinsky is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
